Some pet owners are so crazy about their little beasts they are struggling to part. And if our four-legged friends could accompany us to the restaurant? Some restaurateurs have developed concepts to meet animal lovers.
Bar ... cats!
Yes, you read correctly. The chat bar is a new concept well ran across the planet. Born in Japan in 2004 where it is called Neko Cafe, such as made of small around the globe. Paris, Vienna, Lyon have their chat bar and Montreal was the first city in North America to open a kind of restaurant or Café des Cats, in operation since August 2014. The idea is to enjoy coffee or a meal in the presence of cats, known to be soothing animals.
The Café des Cats, located on St-Denis Street, offers paninis, sandwiches, salads and pastries and all cats are adopted at the Montreal SPCA. On Duluth Avenue East in Montreal, there are also the happy Café Chat espousing the same concept. A nice menu of salads, sandwiches, smoothies, coffees and desserts is presented in addition to having the chance to meet felines. St-Denis also houses the Café Venosa, another coffee cat lovers where you can, among other things, enjoy soup, salads and quiches. At Chelsea, Outaouais, a new cat coffee also comes to see the day: Coffee Siberian cat.
And the dogs?
The doggies are not forgotten by the restorers. If in France it is common to come across here and there in establishments that accept, it is rather rare to encounter here. That is now history as places of appointment were set up for masters and dogs. This is the case of Hot-Dog Coffee Brossard. Besides being a restaurant "bring your dog", the place also offers a host of services for the four-legged like a pension, grooming and indoor dog park. And what is the chef's specialty? Hot dogs of course! But pasta, pizza and grills also on the menu.
The question that burns the lips ... can we bring back a doggy bag?
