The restaurant La Suite, located in downtown Sherbrooke, has two floors to accommodate its customers. When we arrived on a Friday night in January, the place was fairly empty, but is filled gradually despite the bitter cold that reigned outside. For this reason, it is recommended to make a reservation before coming. Immediately, we were shown to a table in a large room with a fireplace, brick walls and tables spaced far enough apart from each other, giving the whole place a warm feel.

After opening the bottle of wine we had taken care to bring, we quickly received the appetizer made of warm garlic bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, butter or pesto.

As we chose the table d'hote menu, we were entitled to a soup and an entrance followed by a main course. The only downside: we would have liked being proposed between the entrance and dessert. We should cast our sights on the dessert without hesitation, having rather sweet tooth. We could also opt for the gourmet menu that offers soup, starter, salad, sorbet, main course and a dessert.

At the time of our visit, the soup of the day was a potatoes and leeks potage with rosemary, honey and a small blue cheese touch. De-li-cious and simply hot, what we needed in this chilly evening!

Then we reached the entrance : Goat cheese crisp for one and salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, parmesan and dressing for the other. Two completely different choices, but both tasty. The ingredients were fresh and all procured a delectable effect.

After a long break after all benefactress, we received our main course. First, lemon risotto with seafood (a beautiful and generous variety including lobster, mussels, shrimp and scallops) was excellent although a little too creamy. Second, the flank steak was cooked as requested to our host. In accompaniment, homemade fries and mayo and grilled vegetables. A delicious meal!

In conclusion, La Suite is a place to discover the culinary world in Sherbrooke. Place lends itself well to a romantic dinner, an outing with friends or in groups. The cost is somewhat prohibitive, but for the excellence of the cuisine, service and ambiance, it worth it. The restaurant La Suite, a suite of tasty dishes to discover and rediscover!
